ADVANCED SEARCH
NOTE: The database and search functions are works in progress. New records are continually being added; and, new IDs are being generated for people, places, roles, events, and other information within the records. Make sure to search the records frequently.
How to Search the Records
1) Search by Word/Phrase. The keyword search is a good way to delve into the records, whether you have a broad interest in a topic or a specific search in mind. You may search by a person's name, a general role ("student"), a corporate body ("Central College"), a building ("anatomical theater"), or any keyword of interest.
2) Search by ID/Key. The Key search allows you to search for a specific person or place by their unique identifier (their ID/key). An example of a key is P43611=Thomas Jefferson. You will have found a key once you have accessed the JUEL records (via Keyword search).
3) Search by Event. If there is a particular event of interest you wish to explore, you may choose an event from the extensive drop-down list provided below. NOTE: The Keyword and Event searches are separate, in that you must enter a keyword OR select an event, but cannot do both (if you do so, the event term will be ignored, and the records only searched by keyword).
4) Additional Search Functions. Additional search functions have been added; you may now search by People, Places, or Corporate Bodies.
Search by keyword. TIP: To browse all the available JUEL records, enter the search term "The"
