Surveyed by order of Col. Kemper the proctor of said University. Martin Dawson, Albemarle County, Va. commission merchant, realtor, and philanthropist, willed land to the University of Virginia, manumitted his slaves, and provided funds for free public education in the counties of Albemarle and Nelson.
