Student Rooming at the Academical Village

The tables below list student rooming in the Academical Village for the years 1832-3, 1848-9, and 1849-50. These were the years with available data about rooming from the 9th, 25th, and 26th Session University Catalogues, respectively. Also listed are the boarding housekeepers[7] mentioned in these catalogues

Looking at the image below, from Left to Right, Hotels A[1], C[3], and E[5] were surrounded by "West Range Rooms," while those abutting the Lawn were "West Lawn Rooms." Across the Lawn faced the "East Lawn Rooms," with Hotels B[2], D[4], and F[6] surrounded by "East Range Rooms." Odd-numbered rooms were on the West Range/Lawn, while even-numbered rooms were on the East Lawn/Range.

Regarding the assigned rooms in the tables below, the number of rooms varies. Some rooms were assigned more than one student per Session; also, the room numbers vary per Session due to some rooms being taken over by faculty/hotelkeepers and incorporated into their own housing (often, a doorway was cut between the main room and the former student room).
