Twine, John
    by J Munro

JUEL ID/KEY: P48184

Described in a biographical sketch in the Corks and Curls yearbook as a familiar face at the University from about 1850s to the time of writing, 1890 (image below):

"JOHN TWINE. The cut No. 3 here produced of John Twine will recall to the mind of the University student of the last forty years this venerable landmark whose alternate vocations of either dispensing kindling wood or purchasing used clothes have made him more or less familiar to all. His chief characteristics are his deferential and respectful manners and his unswerving attention to his own advantages. He will be 'like sixty-eight years old this first of this last April gone by,' to use his quaint phraseology, and has been the happy father of sixteen children, the majority of whom are living..."
