A "Grafton Dillard" is listed in the Charlottesville City Directory, 1914-15; it may or may not be the same individual in question: "Dillard Grafton, porter The Fountain h[ome] 10th S W" (p.74). 

"The Fountain" was a soda shop/informal dining parlor in Charlottesville, located on West Main, as per the advertisment in the Charlottesville City Directory: 

"FOUNTAIN THE, soft drinks W Main nr Jefferson Park Av, M H Eskew mgr" (p.145).
