Phil, male (last name unknown), is mentioned in several entries in the Proctor's Daybook regarding his being hired for the year (1822). He was owned by Twyman Wayt (P44150) (alternate spellings: Tayman, Wright, Wait). 

  • November 25, 1822: "Bills Payable for the Proctors bonds for the hire of Negroes. . .To Twyman Wright for the hire of Phil 60$"
  • February 7, 1823: "60.00$. Sundries draft to A. S. Brockenbrough (P43627) [Proctor] for this sum to T. Wayt for hire of Phil for 1822"
