JUEL ID/KEY: P47097
Reubin, male (last name unknown), is mentioned several times in the Proctor's Daybook as being hired out to the university by owner Charles Poindexter (P47090). On February 27, 1823, the Proctor recorded the payment of $125: "Labour acct. draft to Charles Poindexter for the hire of Prince (P47098) and Reubin this year." On January 1, 1824, an entry noted, "Paid to Charles Poindexter for Reubin $60, for Moses (P47096) $60, for Ben (P47095) $50, for Wyatt (P47100) $40." A final entry from January 4, 1825 noted, "Labour acct. draft to Bills Payable to C. Poindexter for hire of Moses, Reubin, Ben, Wyatt & Stephen (P47099) $250 - bonded."
