Alex Haskill, overseer, is mentioned twice in the Proctor's Daybook. An entry dated February 24, 1823 states, "Labour acct. draft to A. G. Haskill for this amount ($5.00) for traveling expenses to hire negroes." A September 30, 1823 entry notes, "Sundries draft to Alex. Haskill, Brick acct. for this amount paid to labourers at different times for extra work at brickyard: $81.69."
