Here you will find a list of owners, overseers, and related workers associated with the University of Virginia, through their hiring out or leasing of slaves to the University of Virginia. This list is continually updated as new evidence is found and/or verified. The names below include those that were entered in the Proctor's Daybook, an invaluable record kept by Proctor Arthur Spice Brockenbrough (P43627) that details the financial transactions of the University, kept from September 1821 to September 1828.
